The Voice of Blood

There are many songs written over the years about the power of the Blood of Jesus but just like all words, all words have power with the Words of God being the most powerful.  All blood has power with Jesus’s blood being the most powerful.

The Greatest Sacrifice

Before you think I am getting too weird on you I want to make sure it’s understood that the blood of Jesus has the power to wash away all sins for all people that chose to apply it to their life. No other blood can do that.  Jesus was in real life the symbol of the law, the spotless lamb that provided real atonement from sin through the shedding of His blood and healing and deliverance for the torment of His body as Isaiah 53 shares.

The Voice of Blood

Early in the word of God we find the story of the first murder and are educated on the power of blood.

Genesis 4:10  And he said, What hast thou done? THE VOICE OF THY BROTHER’S BLOOD crieth unto me from the ground. 11  And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand;

This voice of the blood is most often overlooked and covered up with a thousand sermons about murder and being your brother’s keeper which are important but we need all the Word has to offer.

First Mention

I am a firm believer that God sets a tone with the first mention of a subject in the Bible and the very first time blood in mentioned is here in this story of Cain and Able. God lays a foundation with a first mention and builds on that foundation throughout the rest of the Bible.  Many of the false doctrines and erroneous teachings in the church of America, many of which are very popular today, begin with American culture then a scripture is sought to line up a preconceived idea to match a Bible verse out of context to support the doctrine. Jehovah Witnesses complete existence was formed this way but it is in most Christian churches to some degree as well. Again since this is the first mention it is so important to grab hold of the details of the blood from this story which are limited but extremely powerful.  The message is that the blood of an individual has a life and voice apart from the individual.  In this story Abel is dead and the blood of Abel alerts God to the murder that has taken place.

Consequence to Murder

God lays out to Cain what the consequences would be for his actions of slaying his brother.

Genesis 4:12  When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.

One of Cain’s punishments would be that the effort of his work would yield less direct profit to him. So Cain’s harvest from the field would be less than before with the same amount of work.  The second consequence would be that he would be a fugitive and vagabond.  Both of these words, fugitive and vagabond have similar roots in the Hebrew which means to shake. These words give the picture of a fallen leaf almost shaking from the wind and being driven against its will to where ever the wind would drive the leaf.

Under the Blood or Not?

One of the poor teachings in our time is that we are in the period of grace and because of this you can forget the law. There are serious consequences to this false doctrine.  Many people like to say we are no longer under the law as if the law does not exist anymore yet if you ask them if you can break the ten commandments they say of course not. The truth is we are living in a season of enlightenment to the power and blood of Jesus. A season which it has been revealed that anyone can receive the work of the cross and apply the blood to the failures in their personal life.  We need to realize that everything of our own lives that is not put under the blood of Jesus remains under the law.  A good example of this is the teaching of Jesus on not forgiving.

Mark 11:26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Jesus taught that if you do not forgive you will not be forgiven yourself.  Maybe you thought the blood of Jesus washed away all sin? The blood of Jesus does wash away all sins if you want it to but if you chose to live in a life of unforgiveness then you are saying “I chose to pay the price for my own sin” and you are rejecting the blood of Jesus to remain in the sin of unforgiveness.  Three of the gospels, including the Lord’s prayer deal in detail about the importance of forgiving others, the Lord in His mercy gave us the message clearly.  Saying all that to get back to the blood, innocent shed blood that has not been put under the blood of Jesus is still crying out to God and God is releasing similar judgment on the individuals and the following generations that are responsible.

Life and Death

Seems like people know that scripture about life and death being in the power of the tongue. Proverb 18:21 But we don’t seem to connect this passage with the story of Cain and Able to see the power of blood.

Genesis 9:4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

The Bible tells us early in Genesis and repeated in the law about life being in the blood and in Abel’s story the life of his blood lived beyond the physical life of Abel.  I think most of understand the power of blessing and cursing and how words spoken in authority continue to live past our lives here on earth.  The book of Revelation tells us about bowls in heaven that are filled with the prayers of saints which are eternal words living forever even though the saints that spoke those words may have been dead for hundreds of years.  I believe blood is just as eternal as words living in the spirit beyond our natural lives. Stepping into this thinking and knowledge about blood and its eternal life you can start to have a more sober look at the consequences of the slaying of innocent blood in our own cities today, by possibly our founding fathers, and by indigenous people of lands to each other. In some areas you could envision a literal chaotic symphony of blood voices crying for justice and judgment being released in like manner.

The Cleveland School Shooting – Stockton CA 1989

In January of 2009 God lined up some things in my life that I knew He was trying to tell me something about the school shootings in Colorado but I didn’t see the real message without the help of another.  The things he was showing me began of a Friday and I went through the entire weekend not figuring it out. On Monday evening I was asked by a lady in the church if followed the stories over the weekend about the twenty year anniversary of the Cleveland School Shooting here in Stockton, then I knew that was what God was wanting me to do something about. After consulting with a minister with more experience in this area and that I trusted, I was instructed to go to the grounds and take communion and pours some of the elements out on the ground where the shooting took place. In this instance I was educated about some things and obediently poured the communion elements upon the ground as instructed not completely understanding the power of what I was doing.  One thing I learned is that this school sets in the shadow one of the largest Masonic Temples in the area and since I have learned Jesus’ blood with authority and direction has the power to silence that call for judgment to the land and turn that innocent blood into seeds for revival.

Blood for Blood

Under God’s law, the price for innocent blood was to be paid for by the guilty party.

Genesis 9:6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

This passage of blood for blood predates the law of Moses more than 500 years.  God’s heart is that blood would cover the blood of the innocent from the beginning to now.  Just think of the destructive forces released on a god-less culture that lets things like the OJ trial take place or abolishment of capital punishment. Through biblical example and evidence of God’s heart the Bible shows us that entire cultures can be effected by innocent blood not being dealt with.

Who’s Job is it?

God has dropped into my heart on a few occasions to do prophetic acts around my city which I have done, mostly unseen. On other occasions I was inspired to do some prophetic acts because it seems exciting and probably needed but I was not called to do so and saw no results.  Today people read articles like this and go out and try to duplicate it or get a crowd together and make an event of it when that is not always if ever how God does things. We are in a generation where people gather on city hall steps to pray and declare, pour oil, blow shofars, worship, and many other things often God is not a part of the action. If you remember Balaam from the book of Numbers, he was a man with an anointing that he could curse or bless and entire people group. The miss-use of his anointing could be so devastating that God sent and angel to kill him.  God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, He anoints individuals often as the primary example in the Bible numerous times, to lead and do powerful things.  God calls and equips for the specific mission and stirs the heart of a leader and his or her’s support staff.  The rest of us find our job to intercede and ask for revelation of what needs to be done, by whom, and when it is to be done.  Random acts of salting the river, pouring out anointing oil, blessing, and or cursing things because we read a good book on it are vain actions at best in most cases.

If My People…

If the people of God are feeling the pinch of their culture, God has promised us that if his people called by his name, humble themselves, repent from their personal sin, then God will listen to our prayers and he will send a deliverer, which just might be you to heal the land! Diligent prayer will expose sins of our founding fathers, the indigenous people’s sins, current sins, and even direct us to recent locations of the shedding of innocent blood, like murders and abortion clinics to take communion and pour out the elements asking God to cover that innocent blood with His.

PS

Jesus paid all the price already as the ultimate deliverer but God has and will also anoint individuals to lead his people and guide them to his will as he moves upon a family, local church, city, region, or nation.
