Witchcraft, Levels of Authority

Posted on November 9, 2014

If you have been reading these posts on witchcraft seriously a big question should arise which is “how come witchcraft seems to happen at different levels with different people and no effect at all with others?”  The answer is levels of authority that people have and exercise in their lives.

Fallacy of Everyone Having the Same Gifting Potential

There is a lot of teaching today and distribution of books and other media promoting the idea that you can have an anointing just like your favorite super star Christian leader, usually sold by your favorite super star. I know this goes against the common teaching and the common hope among believers but it is just not biblical and in reality it does not happen either.  After saying that, let God be the one that sets limits on your anointing, not yourself or others, strive for more continually be content where God places you.

Anointing and Gifting Brings About Power

Whether you are serving God, devil, or self your God given gifts and their development determine the power and effectiveness of your life.  Yes, God given gifts, even for self or the devil.  Remember that Satan and all the power he has, is a creation of God and all that Satan does is allowed by you and or God.  This same thing happens among individuals that use that natural and supernatural given talents for purposes other than God intended for their lives. The concept that we are not all anointed equally is completely biblical both in teaching and example.

Matthew 25:14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. 15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

The important thing is to use the gifting and anointing that God gives you as the example in Matthew with the talents. This passage is a beautiful example of doubling your anointing as well by using your anointing and gifting and being available to take anointing’s that are not being used as well.

Balaam, Special Man with Powerful Anointing

More often than not the story of Balaam gets relocated to a children’s story with a talking donkey, completely missing the all that it teaches us.

Numbers 22: 6  Come now therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people; for they are too mighty for me: peradventure I shall prevail, that we may smite them, and that I may drive them out of the land: for I wot that he whom thou blessest is blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed.

There are many examples in the Bible of super stars that God gifted and blessed their lives to do great and strategic things in the Bible, but the story of Balaam isolates a specific gift of prophetic declaration that is so powerful that it never appears in the Bible again.

The Gift and Its Power

Balak the king of the Moabites was afraid of the Children of Israel so he sent for Balaam, knowing he needed more help than just his physical army to defeat Israel. Balak says about Balaam that he knows that whoever Balaam curses will be cursed and whoever he blesses will be blessed. This is a conspiracy between the Moabites and Midianites, yet they call on Balaam, not one of their own people. The reason for calling on Balaam was that his gifting was extremely powerful and extremely rare.  His gift was real and validated by God’s reaction to the scenario.  God warns Balaam not to meet with the king and to bless Israel and even sends an angel to kill him if need be which all validates that God knew Balaam could deliver with his anointing and gifting.  We know nothing too much more about Balaam other than the gifting on his life was never mentioned nor do other examples of it exist in the Bible.  Balaam was a one of a kind anointing and gifting at his level.

So What’s The Point?

The point to this example of Balaam is that God gifts people as he wishes by attributes and levels of power and authority.  No matter how many books you read or how many sermons and teachings you listen to or view, you cannot just change your gifts and callings to what you want. We are responsible to use what we are given, whether it is small or great, that’s it.  There was only one David in his generations, there was only one Moses in his generations, and I can go on and on how God raised up and anointed a single man or woman to have a huge effect on a nation and He still does this today. Knowing that people have various levels of anointing now, this helps us to understand how people have the ability to effectively war in the spirit in cursing or blessing themselves or others. Negative words from a gifted person carry more weight in the spirit, while a person with little or no gifting in that area has zero effect.

Prophetic Gifting

Like Balaam, if you or someone you know has a level of prophetic gifting, you words carry a lot of weight in the spirit, whether for God, self, or Satan. Obviously God can put a stop to anything and we can war against things as well but the point here is that these gifts are real and have various levels of power. God’s intention is for all gifting to be used for His Glory.

Next Post, Why Would God Allow The Curse?

My next post will be a biblical example of why God allows a curse to get through and effect others.  Please read the entire story of Balaam in Numbers chapter twenty two and all the other posts regarding witchcraft.
