God’s Will, Your Will, Rebellion, Witchcraft

Posted on September 28, 2014

I grew up watching on TV Bewitched and various shows with mostly witch characters which seemed mostly harmless except in the Wizard of Oz. I don’t know why but I was left with two impressions that one; witches and that sort were not human, maybe like angles that may look human but are a different in some way and secondly that they were not real. Under a biblical definition I have found I was wrong on both counts, they are human and they are real.

Should I Be Scared?

A believer should never fear anything but walk out our lives in faith and trust in our God. Witchcraft is very much alive in our society as daily life for many, those tapping into demonic powers, and sadly people attempting to have their way as opposed to God’s way in churches all over America. To really understand what witchcraft really is it must be defined properly with the Word, not the dictionary, and an understanding of the different levels of witchcraft must be known as well.

Witches In Church

Over the years I have heard many ministers and have experienced it as well at The Father’s House, when God is moving in strength in a church that people operating in occult witchcraft show up to check out and sometimes disrupt church services.  In truth, there are Christians in almost every church operating in some level of witchcraft disrupting the work of the Lord, that you don’t need the occult witches to cause many more problems.

Defining Witchcraft

A witch is not defined by the costume, but by the actions. The following passage is very important to understanding witchcraft and our relationship to God and others.

I Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Understanding “rebellion” helps us to understand witchcraft. Now this passage says that rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, so rebellion is like witchcraft but it is not exactly the same thing. Early in the Bible, Deuteronomy 18:10, the commandment against witchcraft was given, but it was not defined for us.  In that generation I am sure it was clear to them. So we learn a “not to” but do not have clarity on what all that entails. Rebellion brings that clarity to us.  When given a directive to do something whether from God or a superior in our life and we do something else of fail to do what we have been instructed to do we have rebelled.  Now that word superior in America immediately causes a chip to start growing on many people’s shoulders but it should not.  A superior is not better than you but a person in place of authority above or different than your authority.  Many examples are parents over children, bosses or business owners over employees, police over the general public, military ranks, pastor over congregation, and the list goes on.  This authority only belongs in it arena of use.  As an example in the streets a police officer can control traffic but in the privacy of your home the police office has no general authority.  We should be submitting to our pastor with our actions in church and those actions that reflect Christ and then in our work place we submit to the owner or our immediate supervisor. Those in positions of authority should be letting “their will” be known and if you are under their authority and you do “your will” instead, you have rebelled.  Through God’s written Word and His prophetic Word (in the mouth of two or three witnesses) you are to obey and yield your life to His Word, if you do not you are in rebellion. You are saying my will be done, not your will, even though I am under your authority. Rebellion being like witchcraft is all about the will between positions of authority.

Witchcraft is Your Will Be Done

Witchcraft is about usurping authority and finding means to have your will done when you do not have the legal authority to be in a position of authority.  When I use the word legal I am meaning in the work place, you have not been given the position of leader, in church you are not the pastor, in the home you are not leader, or even on a one on one basis with a friend of family member. A boss has every right to give orders to employees; parents have every right to give orders minor children, pastors have every right to lead their congregations, and many other places where this fits.  Obviously people can and do abuse their power and ask those that they have authority over to do things that violate higher authority such as God’s ways or the law of the land. When a person begins to take any kind of steps to take away another person’s free will that they do not have legal authority over, they have begun operating in witchcraft.

Levels of Witchcraft

In the next post I will explain some levels of witchcraft which will make even the simplest witchcraft to be exposed and easy to understand. Even when those who claim to be white witches only doing good things, are actively attempting to take freewill from others.

Numbers 23:23 Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!
